Which Sandbox connector do you need?
Most Etsy print-on-demand sellers need two connectors: Etsy for the shop and Printify for the products. Add RankHero if you want real Etsy keyword data behind your titles and tags, and Printful if some of your catalog is printed there. Each connector has its own setup guide with a screenshot for every click.

How do you connect Sandbox to ChatGPT or Claude?
Connecting Sandbox takes three steps and about five minutes: add Playground to Claude or ChatGPT as a custom connector with https://playgroundai.com/mcp, connect each store on Playground's Connectors page, then test it with one prompt in a fresh chat. You only add Playground to your assistant once, however many stores you connect.
Step 1: Add Playground to Claude or ChatGPT
In Claude: open Customize, then Connectors, click + and choose Add custom connector. Name it Playground AI, paste https://playgroundai.com/mcp, and sign in to Playground. (Older versions of Claude keep Connectors under Settings. Same buttons from there.) Claude's free plan allows one custom connector, which is all you need.
In ChatGPT: switch on Developer mode under Settings → Security and login (paid ChatGPT plans only), then go to Plugins, click +, name it PlaygroundAI, paste the same URL and click Create.

Step 2: Connect your stores
Open the Connectors page while signed in to Playground and click Connect on each card you need. Etsy, RankHero and Printful open their own sign-in screens, so your passwords never pass through Playground or the AI. Printify asks for a personal access token instead, and the Printify guide walks through all six clicks.
Step 3: Test it
Start a fresh chat and paste:

What can you do once Sandbox is connected?
Once Sandbox is connected, Claude or ChatGPT can diagnose why your shop isn't selling, find the searches you're missing, rewrite titles and tags with real keyword data, design new products in Playground, build them in Printify or Printful, and take them all the way to an Etsy draft. Every change to a live listing waits for your approval.
The quickest way in is Sandbox → Jobs. Pick a job, choose Claude or ChatGPT, and it opens with the instructions already written. Some of the most-used ones:
- Why isn't my shop selling? Reads every listing's views, favorites and sales and tells you whether it's a traffic problem or a conversion problem.
- Make me designs that will sell. Works out what's missing in your niche, then makes print-ready designs on your Board.
- Name my shop and Build my shop's look. Shop names that clear Etsy's rules and a trademark check, plus your icon, banner and colors.
- What am I not showing up for? Finds the searches your buyers make that your shop doesn't rank for, with a design idea for each gap.
- Build the whole listing for me. Takes one design to an Etsy draft with the Printify product, price, title, tags and description.

Which connectors does each Sandbox job need?
Most Sandbox jobs need only Etsy. Jobs that create or price products also need Printify, and keyword jobs work best with RankHero added. Printful works through plain-English requests rather than one-click jobs for now. Here's the map:

Is Sandbox the same as the Etsy or Printify apps in ChatGPT?
No. Etsy's app in ChatGPT and Printify's app in ChatGPT are both built for shoppers: one helps buyers search Etsy, the other lets anyone order a one-off gift. Neither manages a seller's store. Playground Sandbox is the seller side, working on your own listings, products and data.

Is it safe to connect your shop to an AI assistant?
Connecting your shop through Sandbox is built approve-first. You authorize each store on its own sign-in screen, so passwords never reach Playground or the AI. New Etsy listings arrive as drafts, rewrite jobs show every change before applying it, and Sandbox can't delete Etsy listings, issue refunds or touch payment details.
Each connector guide lists exactly what Sandbox can read, change and not do for that store. Etsy's own rules still apply too: disclose AI use in your listing descriptions and list your print provider as a production partner. The Etsy guide covers both.
How much does Playground Sandbox cost?
Connecting Sandbox to Claude or ChatGPT is free on the Playground side. ChatGPT's Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan, while Claude works on any plan. Playground's free plan includes 10 image generations every 3 hours for personal use, and selling designs needs Playground Pro at $12 a month billed annually.
Playground Pro carries the commercial license. RankHero lookups run on your RankHero plan (it has a free tier), and Printify and Printful charge their usual production costs when orders come in.
What if Sandbox isn't working?
Most Sandbox problems come down to three things: a store card on the Connectors page isn't showing Connected, the assistant is looking at the wrong shop, or Playground wasn't named in the chat. Reconnect the card, say which shop to use, and start your prompt with "Use Playground to..."
Printify connections also break when the personal access token expires after a year. Generate a new one and paste it into the Printify card. Each connector guide has its own troubleshooting section.
